Signs that Your Car’s Fuel Gage is Malfunctioning

Don’t you just hate it when you are confidently driving your car, seeing that you still have enough gas from the fuel gage, and then suddenly it stops in the middle of the road? Although it can be a lot of reasons, you shouldn’t also miss out on the possibility that your fuel gage may be broken.

Fuel gage is a type of liquid level gage that measures the amount of fuel in your vehicle’s tank and indicates in your dashboard its actual level. When a fuel gage is broken or malfunctioning, it is quite dangerous to drive your vehicle as you won’t have an accurate idea of how much fuel your vehicle is carrying.

Below are the signs that your car’s fuel gage is malfunctioning.

1. The lever or pointer in the fuel gage does not seem to move at all, even you have already driven several kilometers from your starting point.

2. On the other hand, you may also notice that the pointer in the fuel gage moves too fast even if you just drove only by a few blocks.

3. If the fuel light indicator in your dashboard seems to be inaccurately lighting, such that it lights up when you still have a lot of fuel or it doesn’t light up when you’re almost out of fuel, there is definitely a problem with your fuel sensor.

4. The level pointer goes up and down randomly. You know for sure that before parking your car, there’s only a quarter left of fuel as indicated by the gage. When you start the car again, however, it goes back up to pointing to half tank.

5. When you gas up and the pointer does not seem to go up at all, there is a problem with either the sensing unit at the gas tank or the fuel level indicator in the dashboard.

When you see any of these signs in your vehicle, do not just ignore it. Make sure that you have your car fixed right away to avoid any serious car accidents and damage. To know more about liquid level gage, visit http://questtecsolutions.com/liquid-level-gauge.
